About
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway first opened in 1867 to provide coal and textiles to the local mills. It closed in 1962 and re-opened in 1968 as a heritage railway, with thanks to a dedicated group of local enthusiasts. We are the only complete, preserved standard gauge branch line in the world. Journey back in time and enjoy five miles of stunning scenery and beautifully preserved stations along the way. The railway makes a great day out for both families and enthusiasts. The railway is popular with film and TV producers and has starred in a number of productions such as The Railway Children, Peaky Blinders and more recently, Dumbo and Official Secrets.
